This issue focuses on:

  • Updated regulations that come into force 1st October 2015

  • All Landlords of private residential properties will be required to install a smoke alarm on each storey

  • All Landlords of private residential properties will be required to install carbon monoxide alarms in any roomthat contains solid fuel burning combustion appliances 

  • Landlords will also be required to check alarms are in full working order 

  • If Landlords do not comply, they can be fined up to £5,000
